Sunday Crochet....and a Simple Pattern

Have I mentioned that I have the worst internet provider ever? For months now we do good to have internet  35% of the time. We call and they act clueless or outright lie (we've caught them in a few of those)...and that's if we can even get ahold of them at all...most times we get voicemail and they never return our calls at all. Unfortunately, the only other option we've had for internet is through the phone company which isn't near as fast as our cable internet -- when it's actually up and running anyway. This last stint (we've gone through this before) would have had me running to the phone company, but we're planning on moving within the next couple of months, so it seems pointless to change now. Words cannot express how frustrating it is! It's like going to the grocery store and paying for $100 worth of groceries, but they only let you walk out with $25 worth. Aaarrggghh!

The up side is that I've had more opportunity to do other things! After doing some design work for PPS today, I whipped up this stick shifter knob cozy for my niece.

She's been wanting me to make her one for the longest and I had bought the type of yarn she was wanting forever ago, but just hadn't gotten around to it. I came across the yarn today and determined I was going to get it made TO-day, come what may! Just so happened that Damon got Jeremy a new shifter knob for Christmas and it was handy so I didn't even have to measure, I just tried it on that as I went along. ☺
Here's what I did:

Eyelash/Fuzzy Yarn, Bulky (5) yarn (I'm thinking that this would almost HAVE to be made with a very fuzzy yarn or it would be too open/lacey with regular yarn)
US J hook

ch = chain
dc = double crochet
st = stitch
sts = stitches
dc2tog = double crochet next two stitches together
sc = single crochet

ch 4, join to make ring
Round 1: dc 9 in ring, join
Round 2: Ch 2, dc in same st, 2 dc in next st & each remaining st around, join (18 sts)
Round 3-4: Ch 2, *dc in next st & each remaining st around, join (18 sts)
Round 5: Ch 2, dc2tog, dc in next 6 sts, dc2tog, dc in each remaining sts around, join (16 sts)
Round 6: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join, fasten of & weave in ends.

...Blessed are all who take refuge in Him.
