Itty-Bitty Blue Totoro

How cute is this.....!?!?

One of Damon's best friends worked on his computer and brought it back from the dead & wouldn't let us pay her so I wanted to do something special for her.  Totoro is her favorite anime cartoon & at first I was going to make her one of the large ones, but it's her mom that bought all of the others that I've made & I wanted her to have something different & special.  I had seen a pattern for a small one, but I wasn't thrilled with the way it looked, so I decided to make my own using crochet thread & fingering weight yarn.
Abby absolutely LOVED it & that warmed my heart.

What do you think about this itty-bitty cutie?
I can't wait to hear your opinions!

Love ya's!

They were also to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD. They were to do the same in the evening.

Yoshi

Hello my friends!
I hope y'all have had a great start to your week.

♥ † ♥

Over the weekend I started a Granny Stripe throw from Attic24.
I LOVE Lucy's blog!  Her use of color is so inspiring and always gives me a happy feeling!
For you Ravelry peeps, there's a nice active group dedicated those who love her & her blog.
You should check it out HERE

♥ † ♥

I'm also working on ANOTHER Blue Totoro for the same lady thought bought the last 2 and the white Chibi Totoros!  And speaking of Totoro, my youngest went to an anime convention in Knoxville on Saturday & he took the Blue Totoro that I had made for him originally & he said that so many people asked him about it!

♥ † ♥

One night earlier this year I came across a site that had all kinds of free patterns for Mario characters & he piped up that he wanted a Yoshi, lol.  Try as I might I could not find a Yoshi pattern that floated my boat.  Soooooo, I decided to design him one to give him for Father's Day.

I looked at many, many images but this is the main image that I modeled the design after...
Here's how he progressed....

And now, the finished Yoshi...

So, what do you think?
He was a hit here, Wayne LOVED him!!

♥ † ♥

Now tell me, what are you working on my friends?
I'd love to hear all about it!
Love ya's!

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16 KJV

The Amplified Version says it this way-
Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace, the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners, that we may receive mercy for our failures and find grace to help in good time for every need, appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it.

I am so excited!!!

My Sunflower Potholder is in this weeks new patterns on Crochet Pattern Central!
How cool is that!?!
Ok, I'm better now.
Just had to share.

In other news, I added a little color to the Simple Kitty I did before...

What do you think?  Better with or without???

And...

I'm really havin' a hard time getting the small American flag that my Sherri ordered to turn out just the way I want it.  I have made two different ones so far and both are pretty good, but not exactly what I want.  Wayne says that I am my own worst critic, but I just believe that if someone is paying for something they should get the best I have to offer, ya know?

Any-who...that's what's going on with me right now.

What creative endeavors are you workin' on right now?

I'll talk to ya soon!
Love ya's,

Hey y'all!
Just wanted to check in with you and let you know that you are all on my mind.
I've had a crazy last few days.  Between working on custom orders, schoolin' the boys, making gifts & a day where my internet was down the whole day, I really haven't had the chance to get online much.

Right now I am working on an order for an Americana set that my friend ordered.  She wanted a small-ish American flag & a couple of stars, all with built in hangers so that she can use them as wall decor.  I agreed to have them done by Monday of next week.  I absolutely LOVE been challenged to come up with my own designs/patterns for things!

A few days ago I decided that I just HAD to make my friend Sue's Happy Frog Free Pattern found HERE.  This is one of the cutest, sweetest, easiest little things to make!  Very simple, but with a BIG cute factor!
Here's my go at it....

Very enjoyable little project that I definitely plan on making more of!

I sure hope that every one of you has an abundantly blessed day!
I love ya's!

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

Hoot, Hoot!

I had seen THIS pattern at the Lion Brand Yarn website & it just didn't tickle my fancy....that is until I seen Megan's results HERE.
It just looks so different!
I didn't even recognize it as being from the same pattern.
Well! Once I seen how c-ute it could turn out, I just HAD to make one!  I have to tell ya, I see myself making A LOT of these.
I did try the wings the way they were written up in the pattern & I'm just gonna tell ya, um..no.  For one, they are too small.  For another, they look nothing like wings & I couldn't even tell how in the world they should have been attached.  Every way I laid them out just looked off, so I followed Megan's lead and made my own.

Here's how I did mine:
-Chain 2
-sc 6 in 2nd chain from hook, ch 2 & turn
-2hdc in each st across, ch 3 & turn
-*2dc in next st, dc in next st, *repeat across
-FO

Now, ready to see how mine turned out?
Are ya?
Huh?
Ok, I guess I'll show ya then
-
-
-

This time I just chose from colors that I had on hand, but believe-you-me I will be going to buy some cotton in colors just specifically for these adorable owl bibs!

Thanks for puttin' up with my cheekiness this post.
I sure do love y'all!

A Way To Help

I admit up front that I should have blogged about this before & my only excuse is that I have been extremely busy doing my part to help out.

One of my wonderful crocheting blogger friends Channelle has asked for some help.  You see, her sister was recently diagnosed with cancer & is now undergoing chemo & Channelle would like some help making a blanket  that would be a source of encouragement as well as warmth.  Channelle is not even asking for free help, she is willing to "pay" you by letting you pick out a gift (she makes some AWESOME jewelry!) in return for six 5½-6" afghan squares in specified colors.  You can find out the details by visiting this post on Chanelle's blog.

I think this is a great way to try out those square patterns that I have saved, but who knows when I'd actually get a chance to use them all otherwise, know what I'm talkin' about?
Here are the squares that I have made up so far....

Please, if you have just a small amount of time & would like to help someone & know exactly where/who your help is going to, I encourage you to sow a seed of good will & respond to Channelle's request for help.

What do ya think?
How about blessing someone today?

I love yas!

Whatever we do, it is because Christ's love controls us (& urges us on*). Since we believe that Christ died for everyone, we also believe that we have all died to the old life we used to live, (for since one died on behalf of all, then all died*).

Chibi Totoro

Hello!
How is your week going?
Mine has been so blessed!  Busy, but blessed!
I was asked if I could make a white Totoro and of course I said yes!
They are a little different than the blue Totoro's I had made before, but I was confident!
Actually, heavens_hellcat has a pattern for it (here) but after lookin' at some pics, I just wasn't feelin' her pattern as much as the blue one & decided to come up with my own.

So, here's a few pics from the cartoon:

How cute are these???

Now that you know what they look like, here are my results:

What do ya think???

Hope y'all are having a great week!
Love ya's!

So we don't look at the troubles we can see right now; rather, we look forward to what we have not yet seen. For the troubles we see will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever.

♥S1KW=Slip 1 Knit-wise (putting right needle in first stitch on left needle as if to knit & slipping that same stitch to right needle)
♥Gauge is unimportant.

CO 35
R1 – (RS) S1KW, K in ea remaining sts across.
R2 – (WS) S1KW, *K1, P1 *across (16x), ending with K2
R3 thru 22 – Repeat rows 1 & 2
